So here's a new set of pictures. This is what I did in my head and hands sculpture class on Monday. We sculpted this model and he actually came in with a large bird of some sort. It was similar to a parrot but white and it could say hello and daddy hahaha. It was pretty cool.

Anyways, the messy looking one was only 45 mins and then all the rest are of the one that we spent about 3 hours on.

WARNING: This man is naked. Although his croch isn't in great detail, it is still there. If you are young, immature or just don't want to look at a naked man, this is your warning of the material. Just thought I'd say that so I didn't get any complaints about how somebody wasn't expecting to see a naked man and didn't like it or whatever.

That's awesome. I like the messy raw version. It's grittier. What medium do you normally work in?

Well I work in a few different mediums. This is a clay called Soldate 60. Its the clay that most ceramics are made with.

I also like to do bronze, like the hand I showed before, which actually starts out as a wax that my school makes. Those are my main two mediums but I am now taking a neon class which has got to be the coolest class I've ever taken. Who knows how practical it will be but I like light so it gives me a chance to play around with some pretty unique light and color.

Are there other mediums? Like do people learn how to sculpt marble and such? that would be incredible.

Ive heard of people who do at School of the Arts, NC. But only super advanced artists. It's like how artists specialize in charcoal.

That's fine. I understand it isn't very common, seeing as its impossibly difficult to do. One mistake and you wasted a block of incredibly expensive marble. I've never met anyone who sculpted bronze, or neon glass tubes. Badass.

Ya we actually do have a stone carving class but its only in the summer so I haven't had the time to take it yet. Maybe I'll take it some summer. It is pretty daunting though. Oh and I do draw in charcoal as well. I try to get some pictures up of some drawings I've done. We also have jewelry classes where you work with a lot of copper and you can get silver and all kinds of other metals. I'm considering taking that class next semester.
