cHUMP's Sports Blog/Thread/Lounge
Since I rave about sports just about all the time, I've decided to make a thread just dedicated about sports.
I follow these sports from most to least in this order:
1. NBA Basketball
2. MLB Baseball
3. NFL Football
4. NHL Hockey
5. College Football
6. College Basketball
7. Extreme Sports (X-Games mostly)
8. Soccer
9. Motorsports (F1, NASCAR, D1 Drifting)
10. MMA

8, 9, and 10 should be really tied because I follow them on rare occasions.
Basketball and Baseball (like a true New Yorker) are on a completely different level than NFL, so I'm gonna be posting a lot more about those two than the rest.

It's more than welcome for others to post opinions about sport news, but don't just shout out that a player is gay or anything (unless of course he actually is). I welcome all debates, but before you post something, back up your opinions with facts or you'll just look like a fool.

LOL Butch
The only time I watch tennis or golf are Nadal, Federer, or Tiger Woods highlights. Tiger Woods much more often than the others though lol

RE: cHUMP's Sports Blog/Thread/Lounge
The main sports I watch are:

1. College Football (Cal)
2. Baseball (Giants)
3. Basketball (Lakers)
4. Golf (I miss Payne Stewart)

Honestly, though, I don't watch too much from the realm of sports since I no longer reside in California and don't have access to my favorite teams. I do have a brother that lives in Northern Virginia and he does that NBA season pass thing so he can watch every Lakers game during the season, which is cool but too expensive to be worthwhile for me.

Also, it should be noted I dislike Stanford and the Dodgers but I greatly respect Oregon's football program.

Yeah, Wisconsin isn't the greatest place for sports lol

Teams I don't like:
NBA: Cavaliers, Celtics (ironically, some of my favorite players are Ray Allen, KG, and Larry Bird >_< )
MLB: Red Sox
NFL: Patriots
College Football: USC Trojans,

RE: cHUMP's Sports Blog/Thread/Lounge
My sports focus:

1. Auto racing (NASCAR by default, but I was a licensed CART/IMSA/SCCA timing and scoring official back in the day)
2. MMA (Chuck Liddell, Georges St. Pierre, Forrest Griffin)
3. NHL Hockey (Red Wings, Predators, Flames, Flyers)
4. Big 10 Football (you can keep the rest)
5. NFL (NFC North primarily)

Even though I loathe any and all forms of basketball, it's impossible to live in central Kentucky and not know at least a little about SEC basketball. I can forgive baseball but only on three specific occasions - a) I get to go to the ballpark, drink beer, and get a sunburn; b) It's late in the season, and the Detroit Tigers actually have a chance; or c) both of the above. As these things rarely happen in any combination, baseball sucks for me. smile

That said, am I the only one that watched the Grand-Am Rolex 24 At Daytona this weekend? One of my favorite drivers of all time, Scott Pruett, and his team took second in the prototype division. It was good but disappointing at the same time. And Jimmie Johnson, whom I had a large streak of hatred for until last season when Kyle Busch became racing's biggest douche, cracked up the 99 prototype but then redeemed himself by announcing it was his fault and helping the crew put the car back together. They didn't finish, but Jimmie's behavior was very un-Jeff Gordon-y, and therefore worthy of mention.

I'm so glad the Trojans are going down the shitter right now. I do not like that team one bit but I will say that the most fun college football game I ever went to was in 2003 when Cal beat USC in triple overtime to break the BCS. USC ended up winning the national championship that year and didn't even play in the BCS championship game.

During that game I wore a blue t-shirt that read, "Fuck Stanfurd" that I had altered to state "Fuck Stanfurd and USC." Yes, I'm aware Stanford is misspelled and that was an intentional misspelling. After Cal won the game, the student section charged the field, tore the goal posts down and I walked through the USC section wearing that shirt. It was awesome.

I think I told you this before but I thought it was pure irony that the Jets traded up for Sanchez lol. Now I have to cheer for him because he's on the Jets and I'll admit it, it's pretty fucking awkward

RE: cHUMP's Sports Blog/Thread/Lounge
all i really give a shit about is the NFC North as well and minor league baseball, especially the teams of whomever i'm prospecting at the time and planning to load up on autographed rookie card-wise. baseball would really bore me if i didn't make money at it; MLB is all about whoever has the most money like NY or Boston using small/mid market teams as farm clubs, imo, but you can really make a nice coin if a rookie you have a lot of stock in makes a splash for a big market team, especially the pitchers for NY.

hockey, basketball, college football, auto racing, golf, et al all bore me.
